Heart & Hop began with Mocha.
Mocha was our Holland Lop doe — born May 4, 2021, and with us until May 25, 2026. She was everything the breed is known for: perfectly compact, impossibly soft, curious beyond reason, and deeply bonded to the people who loved her. She also had a splash of spunk that was entirely her own. Mocha did not just share her life with us — she changed the direction of ours.
Losing her was profound. But what she left behind was a love for Holland Lops so complete that doing nothing with it felt impossible. She inspired us to protect this breed, to share it thoughtfully, and to make sure that every Holland Lop — in every home — has access to the kind of care and knowledge that lets them live their absolute best life.
Heart & Hop is our answer to Mocha. We are based in Broomfield, Colorado, currently in our foundation year with our two Holland Lop does, Meadow and Daisy. We are learning everything we can, building genuine connections with people who love this breed as much as we do, and laying the kind of foundation we can be proud of. Follow along as they grow up. This is just the beginning.

Mocha was our first Holland Lop — compact, soft, curious beyond reason, and deeply bonded to everyone she loved. She had all the qualities the breed is celebrated for, with a splash of spunk that was entirely her own.
She was with us for five years and changed the direction of our lives completely. Losing her was one of the hardest things we have been through. What she left behind was a love for this breed so complete that doing nothing with it felt impossible.
Heart & Hop exists because of Mocha. Every rabbit we raise, every family we get to know, every piece of care information we share — it is all in her honor. She deserved the best, and so does every Holland Lop that comes after her.
